It was sitting a little neglected in the garage, and with spring around the corner, it was time to get it rolling again.

The Setup:

We used a simple Power Wheels to Milwaukee battery adapter (link below) that lets you connect standard tool batteries directly to your kid’s ride-on toys. It’s a super easy and affordable upgrade—no major wiring needed—and it’s a great way to breathe new life into old Power Wheels that have weak or dead stock batteries.

The Experiment:

Instead of using our expensive original Milwaukee batteries, I grabbed a couple of knock-off versions that I already had lying around from another project. They fit perfectly into the adapter and clipped into the truck without any issues.

The Results:

✅ They worked! The pink truck fired up and zipped across the yard without any modifications beyond the adapter. ❌ Performance was noticeably weaker. The acceleration wasn’t as punchy, and the run time was a lot shorter compared to genuine Milwaukee batteries. ⚡ Overall: If you’re just looking for some quick fun without worrying about max performance, they’ll do the trick. But if you’re after stronger power and longer playtime, sticking with real Milwaukee batteries is the way to go.

Would I recommend it?

Yes—with some expectations. It’s a great budget fix to get the kids outside and moving again, and it’s way cheaper than buying replacement Power Wheels batteries. Just don’t expect top-tier performance from knock-off packs.

Want to try it yourself?

👉 Check out the Power Wheels to Milwaukee adapter here:

Final Thoughts:

DIY fixes like this are part of the fun. Sometimes they work perfectly, sometimes they teach you a little something along the way. Either way, you end up with a working truck, some good laughs, and a few memories made.

.

-Tony

https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMBvScw6r/

In the spirit of DIY and weekend experiments, I decided to run a little test: could some off-brand Milwaukee batteries bring our daughter’s pink Power Wheels truck back to life?
